SYC Weather Forecast

SYC Emergency Weather Plan
On occasion there are severe thunderstorms while we are at camp. Tornadoes are extremely rare in July. The camp is part of Lake Murray State Park. The Park Rangers monitor the weather and keep the director informed on developments. In addition, the director and/or head counselors have a weather band radio on 24/7. The mess hall and wreck hall are considered by the state of Oklahoma to be a weather safe buildings. These natural stone and log buildings have withstood severe storms since they were built in the 1930's. Every precaution will be taken to ensure camper safety in a timely and expeditious manner.
